Where this fabric comes from
Traditional synthetic softshell fabrics are durable and weather resistant, but many of them feel artificial and trap heat during movement.
Wool solves part of that problem naturally. It regulates temperature, handles moisture better, and feels more comfortable against the skin. The downside is that pure wool can be less durable and harder to maintain.
Schoeller naturetec was developed as a hybrid fabric where wool, nylon, polyurethane, and elastane all work together inside one construction.

One important detail is that the polyurethane is integrated directly into the fabric structure instead of being added as a stiff membrane layer. Because of that, the material stays softer, quieter, and more breathable.
Why this softshell feels different
Many people assume that water resistance always requires a membrane. That is not always true.
Schoeller naturetec combines water-repellent treatment with integrated polyurethane content, allowing the fabric to resist light rain and wind while still remaining breathable.
The wool content also changes how the fabric behaves during active use. Wool can absorb moisture while still maintaining insulation properties, which helps during hiking, cycling, or changing weather conditions.

naturetec is not designed as heavy winter insulation. It works best as a mid-season technical fabric for spring, autumn, cool summer conditions, and active movement.
Because of the wool content, proper care is important:
- Wash in cold water
- Use gentle settings
- Avoid high heat drying
- Do not wring aggressively
